Alison Hammond left a local reporter laughing uncontrollably after the gate blocked her social media live stream.

The This morning interrupted Worcester News Reporter Shivani Chaudhari as she attempted to do a Facebook live from a fundraising event at a care home and left the reporter unable to speak.

Chaudhari had just presented his live report when Hammond, 47, coughed loudly into the microphone, then chuckled loudly.

The local reporter attempted to continue, mumbling, “My name is Shivani and I’m a reporter for the Worcester News, I’m here with Alison Hammond.”

But she burst out laughing.

Hammond, 47, who shared the clip on his own social media account said: “Hi everyone, I had a little tickle in my throat so I must have had a little cough, sorry you do your thing.”

Chaudhari struggled to regain his composure and Hammond joked that it was fine as there were only four people watching. But the number quickly rose to nearly 60 as the This morning the presenter tried to get the report back on track.

the old Come dance strictly competitor, who is from Solihull in Birmingham, was at Woodland View Care Home in Droitwitch to open a macmillan morning coffee, to raise funds for the cancer charity.

Hammond posed for selfies with residents and visitors and signed copies of his book You Must Laugh: Stories of a Life Lived to the Fullest.

The TV presenter – who celebrates 20 years working on the ITV daytime show This morning – found fame on the third series of Big brother in 2002 before embarking on a successful television career.

She has appeared on many reality shows, including I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here!, The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off and Celebrities are dating.

Hammond was a presenter on This morning for 20 years, often covering show business news, and last year took over as a full-time host Fridays and holidays with Dermot O’Leary.

She was shortlisted for Best TV Presenter to National Television Awards (NTA).

The 2022 National Television Awards take place at Wembley Arena on Thursday 13 October and voting is open until midday on the same day.
