Fox News producer tried to have Jeanine Pirro muzzled for her Big Lie ‘conspiracy’ lies

campaign action

According to NPR, an email from a producer surfaced during the discovery phase of Dominion’s lawsuit against Fox News that warned others that Pirro should be kept out of the way because she was throwing out all the conspiracy theories she could find to the public. According to NPR, the producer allegedly pleaded for Pirro to be removed from his hosting duties. As Dominion Voting Systems’ complaint against Fox News details, there were a ton of reasons anyone who understands the definition of defamation would want to put Pirro on hold.

That same day, Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal again stated that the charges against Dominion were false and that Georgia’s recount had confirmed the accuracy of Dominion’s machines. On November 21, 2020, the day after Fox received Dominion’s letter, Fox returned to the attack on Dominion, with Pirro repeating and amplifying Giuliani’s never before-court claims that Dominion was an “organized criminal enterprise”. “started in Venezuela with Cuban money” which could and did “return[] “votes” with the help of Smartmatic software, thus creating the “beautiful “empty ballot”[s]in the early morning of November 4 which “fill[ed] in” vote for Biden. In order to drive home the lies about Dominion, Pirro asked rhetorically, “why was there an overnight burst of vote tabulation that cannot be explained for Biden?”

The country’s right-wing, both its media and its political leaders, is a cauldron of bigotry, fear, corruption and narcissism. When it moves, it’s not cream that rises to the top, it’s scum like Pirro. Pirro’s political career was sidelined after her husband, “influential Republican businessman” Albert was convicted of “conspiracy and tax evasion. Like Trump and Giuliani, she was a corrupt failure of a wealthy person, someone who abused her positions of power and then found a second life as a tough-on-crime bullshit artist with no bullshit with a New York accent of the 1970s. Since then, she has vomited racism, sexism, Islamophobia, threats of violence and embodied the unpleasant general hypocrisy of the GOP.

Pirro probably just wants to get into this world of WASP posters.

Fox News wasn’t the only right-wing propaganda machine involved in the massive onslaught of misinformation and disinformation surrounding the 2020 election results. Places like OAN and Sinclair Broadcasting were quick to put all the Toms, Dick and Harry ready to promise waves evidence that the election had been stolen. In each of these cases, these Toms and Dicks and Harrys have all provided easily debunked and mostly bad faith arguments about how the Big Lie was perpetrated.

As a result, all of these outlets were either threatened with legal action or sued not only by Dominion Voting Systems, but also by Florida-based Smartmatic, which sued for billions in damages. And while Fox News fell somewhat out of favor with Trump after it was the outlet to call Arizona for Biden — throwing a ginormous wrench into Trump’s plan to steal the election — Trump’s allegiance and trust in the sodden confidence of the brains that host Fox News is well attested by those on the inside.

Donald Trump and his MAGA allies nearly overthrew our democracy on January 6th, and they will try again if they win in 2022. The best thing you can do is help get the Democratic vote out for the midterm elections, and we need everyone to do what they can. Click here to find all available volunteer opportunities.
