August 23: Youth Leader and BJP Spokesperson Shweta Shalini said, “Our former ex-Prime Minister Shri Atal Vajpayee Ji inspired me to write poems in Hindi that connect our Indian culture, philosophy and values to every Indian.
With the advent of social media, the personal side of a politician continues to come to the fore, but the success of Shweta’s poetry vlog now called Samarpan shows how young people today engage in spiritual and literary activities.
I have written several poems about my journey as a politician and my experiences in everyday life.
I’m working on a Hindi poetry book called Swetvani, which I plan to launch later this year, Shweta says.
Spirituality is the new flavor of the season, and poetry vlogs are the best way to connect every Indian and be proud of and promote our religion and culture. It will reach millions of people across India and the world. Many open mic and poetry shows are staged in subways today, but a politician’s foray into this space is a first among them.
The Vlog was directed by a young director, Harsh Bhatia, a graduate of the New York Film School. The young team captured the essence of Bhakti-Ras in the beautiful setting of Bhuleshwar Temple and Sangamneshwar Temple in Maharashtra.
I gave my best and left it on Shiva. I hope he likes it, and the others too.
Shweta is a dynamic young politician of varied skills with a background in business and entrepreneurship. She is also a columnist and opinion leader who has written for many publications and seen on all Indian news channels a debate sharing her views.
