STANTON – Class D1 #3 Stanton’s offense was the picture of efficiency Friday, scoring 59 points in just 28 offensive plays in a 59-8 rematch against Bancroft-Rosalie.

The Panthers’ attempts to control the ball early kept the Mustangs’ powerful offense off the field for much of the first half. But Bancroft-Rosalie couldn’t complete practice, their only score coming on short pitch after a missed punt.

Stanton’s defense continued its dominating start to the year, limiting the Panthers to just eleven total yards in the second half and 145 total. The Mustang defense has kept teams averaging just 12 points per game.

The win gives Stanton its first-ever 7-0 start as an 8-man program and its first overall since 2008. The win was No. 50 all-time for coach David Stoddard.

Bancroft-Rosalie drops to 2-5 with the loss.
